Moving on

This was truly one of the most difficult decisions I’ve had to make in my life and it pains me to write but three weeks ago due to circumstances out of my control I made the decision to leave RavenEye.

This will be a shock for most people, and believe me it was not easy. I love the band and the music we made, every show was a whirlwind. Playing in a band like RavenEye has been my lifelong dream, and it really felt like I had made it.

All of the people I’ve met, all of the amazing musicians and crew we’ve worked and hung out with, undeniably it’s been spectacular. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all of these beautiful memories I will cherish dearly.

The band’s early success and the support of the fans propelled us to places I never thought possible, and if it weren’t for YOU, the people reading this now, I wouldn’t have had the opportunity to travel through Europe and America having these incredible experiences. I feel very lucky to have had such amazing support and to have worked with such a great team of people behind the band. Thank you to everyone.

It breaks my heart but I just cannot continue with the band, I wish Oli and Aaron the best of luck with the pivotal debut album and the undoubtedly hectic tour schedule that awaits them.

So what’s next for me? A few days after making this decision, I was approached by Aaron Buchanan, ex singer of Heaven’s Basement, he came to me with frankly incredible new music and asked if I would be interested in joining his new band, of course I jumped at the chance. We’ve been hiding away, secretly working on songs with the band and I’m very excited to get playing this stuff live to people. I truly hope that I’m lucky enough to get your support in this new step in my life.

So if you’re interested in following me and this new project, head over to our Facebook page and give us a ‘like’, we have a teaser video up and some gigs booked for later in the year. Hopefully we’ll see each other again on the road somewhere!

Paiste Endorsement

I am very happy and excited to announce that I am now an official endorsee of Paiste Cymbals. Anyone that’s talked drums with me for more than five minutes knows how much of a big deal this is for me. I went round to the factory in Milton Keynes and picked up my brilliant new 18″ Signature Crash and 14″ Sound Edge hi hats, met up with Martin Potts and talked drums for ages. Thank you Martin and thank you to everyone else at Paiste, looking forward to taking these cymbals on the road in October for the RavenEye support tour of Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators! The two new additions will go very well with my Twenty Custom ride cymbal.
